the edit

after spending the last 12 days in the refreshingly "italian" italy where the only food choice is italian,  99% of the people around you are italian and the greatest selection of choice you will face is at the gelateria - i am overwhelmed with a desire to EDIT.  edit EVERYTHING.  there is just so much information on each of the choices we make daily that's its hard to know where to look and who to trust for sound advice.  from recommendations on the food i eat, to what should be in my wardrobe to the news i should be reading who should be in my instagram feed and what music i might like to listen to - I WANT IT ALL SIMPLIFIED.  i don't want to have to do so much thinking and working to get to the good stuff.  but the question is how?

we all know the old addage to be true that a friend's recommendation means more than that of 10 strangers and with facebook, pinterest and polyvore we have the modern equivalent of our 500 closest friends and fashion stylists living on our smart phones and tablets - but i want even more of an edit than that.  i want to narrow all things in my personal collections down to just one opinion - and that's my own.  to do that i have to find my own inner voice.  easy to say but not so easy to do with your 30th birthday looming around the corner.  so for the next month and a half i will be exploring meditation.  good old fashioned "eat, pray, love" style meditation.  more to come on that topic...

in the meantime - i have amassed a bit of a collection of trusted sources i consult on topics ranging from personal finance to career advice to fashion which i've listed below.  what are your favorite resources for good, trusted, edited content?
