Since when is it OK for people to be walking around with pink, purple, and teal hair?? Since RIGHT NOW!!!!! Pastel dusty versions are preferable and look flattering on just about everyone.
But wait - I know what you're thinking.......
I am too old for that.

I am too dark for that.
Too dark? We think Nicole Richie looks smashing in lilac!
It looks trashy.
Too trashy? We think this teal hue looks classy not trashy on Kylie Jenner!
It's just a fad.
Just a fad? We sure hope not - Kelly Osbourne is here to stay and we hope her hair is too!
This trend is sooo fun and IT'S TEMPORARY - very temporary (think one to six weeks). it can be as easy as adding in temporary haircolor to your conditioner OR as intense as multiple shades, with gradation of color from dark to light. If you don't mind or prefer for it to wash out after one to two washes - head to Sally's and grab some good ol' Manic Panic. Use a smidge of color with a glob of conditioner in the shower. Whatever color is in your hands is pretty much the color you can expect. Gloves may be a good idea here, along with the elimination of white towels. Let the color sit while you shave your legs, brush your teeth, or just sing in the shower and rinse.
If you are looking for something with a little more longevity...... I said it once, and I will say it again..... Go seek out your local talented hair stylist. This is not a look all stylists are well educated on, so do your homework by checking out their Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest. I mean, I am ALWAYS available to play with these palettes as fun unique color projects are kinda my thing.

When you are over this haircolor, start the process by shampooing with dish detergent followed by a cheap hot oil treatment (like Vo5 hot oil). People, including most hairstylists, think you need to bleach out this hair color, which can be damaging, and potentially shove the color further into the cortex. Think about when you get gum in your hair or on your nice wood floors. You use oil to get it out because it slips into the tiny spaces or cuticle (where this temporary/semi permanent hair color lives) and pushes it out. Do this about a week or so prior to your next hair appointment as the results are not immediate. You will notice more and more color falling out as the week goes on. And NO - seven shampoos consecutively does not count, as natural oils that build up throughout the day also help this process, so do this more than once.
